How to Measure for the Correct Size Abdominal Binder

We get asked all the time by new moms what size abdominal binder they should order. The below size chart shows how to measure both height and waist size.

First you need to measure the height of the abdominal binder you need. To do so measure from your chest to the widest part of your hip. For most women this measurement will be between 9" and 12". This means you need a 9" binder with 3 panels. Tall patients with a measurement over 9" should choose a 12", 4-panel binder.

Secondly you need to measure the length of the binder you need. To do so, measure the fullest part of your waist, abdomen or hip. Depending on your body-type any of these may give you a different measurement, but you should use the largest number of the 3.

Keep in mind that your binder needs to fit snugly to do it's job. So while the below measurements may seem to run small, they actually take into account the stretch of the binder. However when in doubt it's always better to go with the bigger size, as all our binders can adjust down, as they are velcro-receptive over the entire length of the binder.
